The Space Game

The Casual Collective have released their latest online game. The Space Game. It's a single player strategy game where you have to build structures in space, mine rocks and defend your base from pirates.

Quite a lot of fun!

Games for you.

Bored? Well here are a couple of games to keep you occupied.

For the nerds: Protector is another tower defence type variant. This one has a big long campaign, lots of maps and some strategy. Takes ages to complete but it strangely satisfying. It saves your campaign on your browser so you can close down and come back later.

For the cool kids: Sitar Star is like a flash guitar hero where you play a sitar. What more needs saying?

Flash Element TD 2

Right, so I haven't been blogging, because I've been playing games again. The latest offering from the Casual Collective is Flash Element TD 2. We've mentioned these boys a couple of times here and here, but they keep coming up with the goods.

My current record is over 195,000 on the first map. To put that in context, I'm in the top 100 scores for a game that's had over 1.5 million plays. Beat me if you can.

Oh god, not more online games to waste time with?

Those excellent guys at the Casual Collective have finally launched their site out of Beta. These are the guys who released Desktop Tower Defence and then quit their jobs to make games for a living once they found out how successful they were. Fair play to them!

There are a few new games on the site. I've been playing a bit of the Desktop Armada single player missions. Much fun.

Video Game Crack

There are several reasons why it's been nearly a week since our last update, and one small part of that for me is Desktop Tower Defence, an insanely addictive flash game. As with games that get this addictive the idea is simple, stop the evil dots from crossing the screen by constructing a maze of attack towers, but once you get into it there's actually quite a lot of complexity and strategy behind it.

The reason I'm blogging about it, is that the guys behind this game have recently quit their jobs to become full time game makers on the back of the success of this and their other tower defence games. They also have a blog about their experiences. Quitting your job and spending your time writing and playing games all day, for money? Sounds great. Shame we're too lazy.
