If LazyView made websites

We'd make them like this, they are useful and very easy to code.

Want to check whether it's Christmas?

Or maybe on the US election result...

More importantly, has the large hadron collider destroyed the world yet?

Whilst you are clicking links, a friend has developed this site, which has a feed of all the Christmas greetings being posted on Twitter. Get yourselves in the holiday spirit!

If I could be bothered getting Danny a present...

for Christmas, I'd have to get him this.

Still can't think what to get him for Christmas? Socks don't seem to cut it any more? Fret no longer because Burger King is here to help.

The mass purveyor of grilled meat is offering, for a limited time, something even better than their usual piles of beef patties. This week, American men were given the chance to smell like their favourite meat snack with the launch of Flame, Burger King's contribution to the perfume market.

The company describes Flame as "the scent of seduction with a hint of flame-broiled meat".

Yes, that's right. Burger King perfume. If you want to stink like the last train back from Paddington station at all times of the day and night, you can. What kind of potential partner are you going to attract if you wear this stuff? Is it designed to make girls think you have a Whopper?

I can't believe this is real. Did we skip to 1st April already? This is crazier than Chinese Democracy getting released.

Want to know where to buy it? Check here. Can you get the smell of fries with that?

Opera

I posted a while ago about Google Chrome and how I was enjoying it as a browser. I've got all the web browsers on my machine for testing websites and have been mainly using Chrome and Firefox for normal browsing but the latest IE security flaw has highlighted that  apparently Opera is the most secure browser for password management.

I've been really impressed with the speed of the Opera browser built into my Wii, so I thought I should give it another go. Opera was great when it first came out but in version 5 they built adverts into the browser, and I stopped using it. Now it's ad free again (woo!), and does very well in password management security, where Chrome and Safari are rubbish.

It's also got a lot of the good features of both Chrome and Firefox, like Chrome it's very quick to load and render and like Firefox there are lots of plugins (widgets). Like Chrome you have your 9 pane top websites area when you launch a new tab, although you can define what those sites are.

So yeah, I like it. It might become my #1. That said, Firefox would still be #1 by miles if they hadn't totally crippled it's speed with version 3.

Yeah, whatever did happen to my personal robot?

The idea for this post has been shamelessly stolen from the BBC.  I'm sure Tomorrow's World was predicting we'd all have our own personal house robot slaves by now.

Personally I can't imagine a robot like this being developed for the domestic market. It'd just cost way too much money for something that's probably cheaper to employ a human to do anyway. If we do ever get useful human robots I can't see it coming out of anything other than military research or from the development of a Japanese sex robot

A friend of mine (yes, I know you won't believe it's not me) wants a Cameron (from Sarah Connor Chronicles). I'm not sure for which purpose he wants it. Probably to do the hoovering.

I should probably get a robot to do my blog posting for me.

Too lazy to blog.

I'm confused about drinking

Are we all drinking too much, or is it a bad thing that we're drinking less?

I think I'll have a beer and contemplate the mixed messages.

Unlazy Quote

"Failure is not the only punishment for laziness; there is also the success of others."
- Jules Renard

Let's cut right to the chase. Jules Renard is fuckhead and is wrong. First, he's French, so he can't be trusted right then and there. Second, he knows nothing about the powers of being lazy. If you don't try, you can't fail, so he's wrong right off the bat. If I try to build a Lamborghini Countach in my basement and fail I'm a broke loser who waste a shitload of time and money. If I just sit on the couch and drink a beer I'm richer, more rested, and I don't have a hole in my basemet wall. I just read a blog about the moron who did it and wonder...How's he gonna get that thing legally registered to drive and why does my fruit cup contain so much liquid and so little fruit?

Second, and most importantly lazy people aren't punished by the sucess of others. Lazy people rely on other people's success to survive. We're mooches. You work and make money and we try to exploit that and make money without leaving our couches.

Hell, the entire concept of investments and the stock market is built off of this concept. Lazy people take their money, buy other people's success and then make money by basically betting on that same person continuing to be successful. It's great. Most of the time. Until those idiots fail. If those damn bankers wouldn't have tried so much, they wouldn't have failed so bad and we all wouldn't be wondering how money can disappear so fast.

And no, lazy people didn't bring down the economy, greedy people and poor people did.
